- The Edward Joseph Brewer Detachment is a non-profit Marine Corps League corporation.
- Purpose includes preserving Marine Corps traditions, supporting Marines and families, and promoting citizenship.
- Meeting location and mailing address are designated by the Detachment leadership.
Article Two - Detachment Governance
- The Detachment is governed by elected officers under Department and National bylaws.
- Bylaw amendments require prior member notice, a membership vote, and Department Judge Advocate approval.
- A quorum is set at six members plus three officers for transaction of business.
Officers And Duties
- Required officers include Commandant, Senior Vice Commandant, Junior Vice Commandant, and Judge Advocate.
- Officer roles define command responsibilities, bylaws interpretation, records, finances, and ceremonial duties.
- Attendance and succession procedures are established for continuity of leadership.

In accordance with the bylaws, the Detachment is governed by elected officers subordinate to
Department and National bodies. Amendments require advance notice to members, a membership vote,
and Judge Advocate review.
Officer roles define command leadership, legal interpretation, administration, finance, chaplain
